The aim of the article is to present the image of local government in the his-tory of Poland in the 20th century, in terms of the latest school history textbooks. For the purpose of the analysis, eight studies have been selected, which since September 2012 have been taught in Polish secondary schools. The image of the title issue emerging from the analysis indicates that the marginal treatment of the role and signifi cance of local government in relation to the period of the Second Republic of Poland is clearly visible. Nie wszyscy zdają sobie sprawę z tego, że szkolne podręczniki historii to dla wielu ludzi jedyne książki historyczne, z którymi mieli styczność w ciągu swojego życia. The article presents a textbook series EEverything Is Easy!" for teaching Russian to Polish students at junior high school, showing its structure and methodological foundation. The fi rst textbook in the series was published in 2014, shortly before the introduction of a law which introduced a ban on placing exercises that required writing answers in the textbook. The law resulted in the conceptual change of the series.

Some research studies concerning the didactics of Algebra discuss how learning to solve problems using symbolic algebraic language can be hard for students (Bohlmann et al., 2014; Palm, 2009). In this paper, the focus is, first of all, on the organization of commercial education and French language teaching programs after the coming into force of the Casati Law; then the study focuses on the pedagogical aspects of a body of textbooks. For each aspect, we highlight the differences and, at the same time, the similarities of the methods present in the textbooks used for the teaching of the French language in schools and technical institutes.
